Emily Roz’s lush paintings and works on paper juxtapose the delicacy of domestic flora with primal animalistic behaviors in the wild. These works masterfully depict the incongruity of feral impulses and the human desire to cultivate beauty. Evolving from her photographic work which mocked our indifference to violent images in the media, Roz turns to the internal psyche, and how it is reflected within society in terms of natural selection and survival of the fittest.
